Anderson County Meals on Wheels

We want to introduce you to a sweet southern lady who seems to accomplish many tasks.  She can con even the busiest into helping where it is needed the most.  As a packer, there is not a volunteer on her appointed day that doesn’t miss her and ask about her when she is not in her usual spot.  This is mainly because it is so quiet.  She speaks to everyone and carries on a conversation all the while never missing a beat on the packing line.  She has been great, volunteering at any event and even brings help with her when it is needed.  With a smile on her face she will do many … or maybe I should say ANY task!  This dedicated volunteer somehow manages to interview applicants, help with spaghetti, pack on the line, product pick up and delivery, photography, yard sale pricing and whatever else is needed.  She even manages to persuade her husband, (the staff have been known to want to kidnap her handyman husband) to “drive Miss Daisy”  when she travels to interview sites.
We love and adore Kay Binford and cherish everything she does for us here at Meals On Wheels.  Please join me in congratulating Kay Binford as the 2008 Volunteer of the Year!
